SassyNails Nail-Aween Nail Art Challenge: Day 7 - Spiders

Well, if you have been reading my blog for the last month you will know that I started out this month by doing two Halloween challenges.  This one, which is a self paced one, and another one for the Facebook group, Crumpet's Nail Tarts.  I can't express how crazy it has been to be doing nail art every single day.  It is hard to get everything done.  Much respect to those who can do it.  I decided yesterday that I am not going to finish the one for Crumpet's Nail Tarts.  The main reason is because the next challenge I had to do was inspired by a scary movie.  I DO NOT watch scary movies and I don't really want to spend 3 hours doing intense nail art and then take it right back off.  Blood, guts, and creepy movies are not my thing.
On to today's mani, spiders.  I really don't like spiders, but this mani turned out pretty cute.  I received some Sally Girl mini polishes in a swap last week and they were perfect for this one.  As with most neons, I layered Amped over a white base to make the neon color really pop.  Unfortunately this resulted in easy chipping.  I didn't even do anything except sweep and mop last night and it was chipped.  :-(  I applied the spider webs and legs of the spiders with a small nail art brush and the bodies of the spiders with a dotting tool.  I hope you like these.

Nicole By Opi Studio Mama Swatches and Sally Hansen Big Money Accent Nail

As I mentioned in my previous post, I had gone to TJ Maxx and found those Sally Hansen nail wraps.  Well, I also found some Nicole by OPI duo packs and some Essie polishes.  I picked up a duo pack containing Studio Mama and I've Got Bieber Fever.  Both of these colors were relaease as part of the One Less Lonely Girls Collection, which if you haven't figured it out yet, was inspired by Justin Bieber.  The best part of these polishes, it was 7.99 for the both of them.
I am not hugely drawn to light shades of polish I decided to try wearing it with an accent nail.  Which I am shocked I have never done before.   I wish I could have captured some better pictures but the Gem Crushes don't photograph well.  To much grazy glam!  Bam!  I love it.

Base coat: Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Hardener
Main color: Studio Mama by Nicole by Opi - 3 coats
Accent nail: Big Money by Salley Hansen Gem Crush
Top coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat

I applied the three layers very thin so they dried rather quickly.  I wish this was a little more pink looking but overall like it.  Do you have any of the colors from the One Less Lonely Girl Collection or did you stay away from them?

Somewhat successful stamping

Since my last experience with stamping I practically gave up.  The one that I posted wasn't a bad one but I had tried a few times and was very upset and let down.  I have came to the conclusion that I really do need to invest in the special polishes meant for stamping.  I have read in a lot of blog posts that metallic colors work pretty well so while I was sitting at home sick this morning I went through one of my buckets of polish and did a little experimenting.  I came up with one color that I thought would work for stamping, and it did.  As you can tell I messed up on my pointer finger and missed the edges on my thumb and middle finger.

Do you like my nubbin of a thumb nail?  It broke today.  :-(
Base Coat: Yello-Out
Base Color: Simple by Sally Girl
Stamping Color: On A Trip by Wet N Wild
Stamp: I wish I could tell you a plate number or something of the sorts but the Essence plates don't have a number.  But you can see the plate in this blog post.
Do you guys have any suggestions for stamping colors that are cheaper than the Konad special polishes?
